Scorpions - Blackout - Digipak CD

For the 50th birthday of the Scorpions: "Blackout" remastered

In 2015, the Scorpions celebrated their 50th anniversary. On the occasion of their band birthday, they have therefore come up with something very special for their fans: the "50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition". In this edition, the Scorpions are re-releasing a series of different studio and live albums. For this, the band has also pulled numerous previously unreleased tracks, including rare live recordings, alternative versions of their songs and rough mixes from their archives.

So with "Blackout" the eighth studio album of the Scorpions is also released on their birthday as a remastered special edition on CD and DVD as well as LP with accompanying CD.

However, this album almost never happened, because singer Klaus Meine lost his voice during the recording sessions and it was not certain for a long time whether he would ever be able to sing again. After some time, however, he returned with a "new voice", which some critics even described as better than before.

In addition to the nine original album tracks, the 2015 version of "Blackout" contains four bonus tracks, including a rare demo version of the song "Blackout" and three other never released demos.

The DVD shows the legendary gig of the Scorpions in Dortmund's Westfalenhalle on December 17, 1983 as well as video clips of "No One Like You" and "Arizona". As an extra there is an interview with the band in which they talk in detail about the making of "Blackout".

Like all albums of the "50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition", "Blackout" is also available as LP with accompanying CD and also includes a 16-page booklet with photos and illustrations of backstage passes and rare single covers as well as new liner notes by ex-Metal Hammer editor-in-chief Edgar Klüsener.
